Stephanie,

My first Wednesday in a long time without your New York Press column reminds me an incident from my past:

One of my best friends once dated a crude, lackadaisical, inattentive guy (let's call him Bob). She was in love with him for some reason, and I didn't want to disrupt that and perhaps lose her friendship by speaking against Bob, so I let her make her own mistakes, knowing the relationship would end. I was right, it did end: he ended it. She was inconsolable for a week or two but soon bounced back and found a great guy after playing the field and having fun for a while.

New York Press is like the aforementioned Bob: an unworthy partner for someone like you to be shackled to. Floating free on the internet is more your style; it suits your polyamorous nature. You never know where a blog can lead, but your devoted readers will follow you wherever your heart takes you.

After all, the importance of following your heart above all else was the main message of Lust Life. The sex-fearing fools at the Press were so scared by your honesty that they completely missed your point. Let them have their puritan pornography; just keep making your erotic art.

Hi Stephanie,
Met you at Bill's party on Central
Park West for Parkerfest.I had a great time that nite.Loved meeting all the talented New Yorkers. Boston is pretty tame in that catagory. You are a fun girl. Enjoyed reading your blog. Keep it up cutie.
